Miniball

Checkers Basketball Club organise a Miniball League for Years 3 & 4 at Bishopdale YMCA during Term 1 on Thursday anytime between 3.30pm - 7.00pm. All games are half an hour and start on each half hour.

This is an adapted game of basketball, which has

Lower hoops (2.4m) and a size 5 ball
Games are 2 x 13 minute halves
Colour coded wrist bands, so each player can mark their opposition player – promotes guarding rather than chasing the ball
Retreat to touch halfway rule upon turnover
Dribble rule – 4 dribbles max – promotes sharing of the ball.
A limit of four fouls per player, per game – promotes non-physical play

Competition Games will take place on: 22 February, 1 March, 8 March, 15 March, 22 March and 5 April.

The exact cost will be calculated when we know how many player we have, however it is usually no more than $30.00 per student.
