Swimming Sports Reminder

A reminder that the School Swimming Sports (Years 5-8) is on tomorrow and because of this Students from Years 5-8 will not be able to order their lunch.

Below is some important information about the event, this has been shared with your children today:

Date: Friday 24 February
Start Time: 9.45am
Finish Time: 2pm (approx)
Venue: Jellie Park
Age Group: Years 5 - 8

Students are to come to school with their swimming togs underneath their PE Uniform.

Students are to bring a lunch and water bottle with them to the pool.

Students will be sitting in their age groups. Each time a student gets into the water they will earn 10 points for their house. Students who win their finals will be awarded 100 points for first, 50 points for second, and 25 points for third.

Students have entered in a minimum of TWO events.

Students are encouraged to wear goggles and a swimming cap if they have them.

Girls are to wear a one piece swimming costume.

Boys are not permitted to wear underwear under their togs.

Lanes will be used for all events. Starting blocks may be used, but this is optional.

Races will allow for one false start only, after that any swimmer starting before the starting signal has been given, shall be disqualified.

Once the swimmers have completed their race they are to remain in their lane.

Disqualification will occur if the following takes place in any 25m or 50m race
(There are also individual stroke rules, which like all of the above and below have been shared with the students and will be shared again tomorrow before they race):
