Basketball - Thursday 20 August and Friday 21 August

Please find below this week's draw. It is the same draw as last week, please don't be alarmed by the date on the draw. Also is a list of instructions from Bishopdale YMCA as to how the Basketball will be run. Please have a good read of the message:

To all School Contacts and Parents

We are confident we can safely continue with the competition and so have decided to go ahead with the Schools Basketball Competition under the LEVEL 2 Guidelines.

This will be subject to certain restrictions and protocols around teams as follows:

Y5/6 and Y7/8 games at YMCA Bishopdale under Level Two will take place with the following conditions:

·         Teams will not be allowed into the stadium until the teams beforehand have all exited (this will be less than five minutes before their game tips off)

·         Spectators – only one spectator/caregiver allowed per player, in order to stay under the 100 person threshold

·         Sanitisation – everyone will be expected to sanitise hands before entering stadium

·         Mouth guards – should not be removed – hands sanitised again after putting them in

·         Contact Tracing – Person in charge of each team is to enter details on behalf of their team into iPad at reception for contact tracing. Person in charge is also to have a list of their players, coaches and caregivers attending for their records.

·         Game length – 11 minute halves, so as to ensure we can empty stadium as quickly as possible between games

·         Entry – via main stadium entrance – caregiver to enter with their player, team by team

·         Exit – via stadium Emergency Fire exit as indicated by staff

·         Handshakes – discouraged, so please just give opposing team three cheers instead

 

We will have someone on the door to advise when entry is allowed, so please make sure your list of players attending is filled out beforehand. Schools are encouraged to pre-print this list with caregiver names.
